Roleplay Rules
Guidelines for fair play
Third Person
FT:MT is a site that role-plays in accordance to third person. What this means is that the posts will naturally consist of hes and shes and no I's or my's. If you wish to RP in first person, you can do so only in the OOC boards; Due to events and plots being third person for PC characters. That being said, it would be best if you get used to said writing style due to its necessity in events.
Thread Tags
A very important aspect of role-playing on any site is knowing how to label your threads, as they let people know how to approach the thread in question. Such tags that one can utilize are as follows: OPEN threads are threads that are open to everyone and may include other tags to go along with them (these are typically labeled as [Thread Name || Open]), PRIVATE threads are completely of limits to all but the role-player that created them (these are typically labeled as [Thread Name || Private]), INVITE threads are only accessible to the one that created the thread and whoever they want to RP with them and may include other tags (this is typically modeled such as [Thread Name || Chosen Character's Name(s)]), CLOSED threads are those that have reached their end and are in other words completed (this is typically modeled as [Thread Name || Closed]), TRAINING THREADS are those that consist of learning something through either book, self, or teacher and are by nature either Private or Invite (they are typically labeled as [Thread Name || TT]), and finally, TRAINING THREAD CLOSED threads are Training Threads that have been completed and are ready for staff review (they are typically labeled as [Thread Name || TTC]).
Cheating
On this site, cheating is defined under four categories: God Modding, Meta-Gaming, Power Playing, and Power Posting. GOD MODDING is defined in numerous ways; however, FT:MT's definition brings it down to simply having an untouchable character. You can not dodge every move. You have to take a hit at some point. META-GAMING is described as giving your character knowledge of things that they do not know or have not found out in character. This includes spontaneously recognizing that they're trapped in an illusion, reacting in a certain way to traps because of your OOC knowledge even if your character would likely fall for it, and etcetera . RP with your character's personality, knowledge, and combat style and not your own personality and knowledge. POWER PLAYING is defined as describing your attacks hitting an opponent without giving the opponent the chance to react. In general, no attacks should be described as automatically hitting someone. This also refers to controlling another person's character in your posts. POWER POSTING is defined as either double posting or defying the current posting order in any given thread. Simply put, you must wait your turn. If any of these are encroached upon, the staff have all right to deal accordingly.
Post Standards
We are an intermediate to advanced role-play site. That being said, it is required that you have at least three paragraphs long post. If for some reason you can not meet this requirement, it is up to the person you are RPing with, if they are fine with a word with the post as it is then its fine. However, in events and plots, three paragraphs at the least are mandatory. There is also a grammar standard here. All posts should utilize proper spelling and proper English; this includes proper usage of commas and punctuation and use of quotations when speaking. The choice to color code speech is optional, but quotations are still required. If you are unsure of your Grammar contact the head admin ReddredDragon and he will gladly help you out.
Death Rule
This site will only allowing killing if those involved within the thread agree to a death enabled thread before hand or if you wish to start an open thread that is death enabled you need to place DE within the title so everyone knows. If death was not talked about before hand and agreed upon then there is no way your character can die. Lastly no events on FT:MT will ever be death enabled.
