Training In order to advance in skill here on FT:MT, one must partake in the training system, which is rather simple and easy to understand. like most, modern Roleplaying sites, we work by an exp system, meaning you gain exp and then use it to purchase techniques. where we differ is that we also have three other types of training methods that fall under the category of "training threads". these are the solo threads, the group threads, and the special threads. each of these will be described in detail below, but if you still need more help understanding, you can pm a staff member. however, the exp amount needed to purchase things will not be placed within this thread. EXP System Exp (aka "experience") are the numerical points that each rp'er uses to purchase spells and magic. here on FT:MT, these points are not gained through regular posting and can only be gained through training threads or by completing jobs. for the most part, this is the simplest method for gaining techniques, but it is also the most trivial. this is because, in order for it to be challenging, the exp that you gain has to be relatively low, or else you would be able to purchase spells and magic much too quickly and much too easily. however, the trade off is that once you purchase a spell/magic, you do not have to train it to use it at full power, regardless of the rank of either your character or the spell. In short, it has its pros and cons, but it is the best option for those who are not the most savvy at rp'ing. Normal Threads Normal threads are the most basic form of training thread, and they serve, primarily, as a substitute for the exp system. For those who grow weary of the numerical values and prefer to learn spells through good ole rp'ing, this is the method for you. when learning a spell, you can learn it by studying a book or by studying under a teacher. this method can also be used to create spells if you so choose, which will also bypass having to purchase your creations. however, if you create a spell that is not registered, you will still have to register it and have it subject to review. these threads may or may not be heavily scrutinized, though this mostly depends on your rank and the rank of the technique that you want to learn.
Group Training Group threads are a from of normal training thread that are likely to be most common among guild teams. the threads these threads are also the only way to learn unison raids (as they do not appear on profiles and only come through group training). While these threads can be used like normal threads to teach the group a spell, they are most useful for gaining Exp outside of missions. the methods of teaching are limitless, ranging from things such as tree climbing to sparring to tactical lessons about formations. when graded by staff, we will assess the quality of the teaching and the quality of the learning from the group, and according to that, exp will be awarded to all members with the addition of a group bonus.
Special Threads Special threads are training threads reserved for training to gain new magic as well as ranking up your special abilities (after the upgrade is talked about and accepted by a staff member o course). These training threads will be the most heavily scrutinized, and they also come with the greatest requirements for completion. we expect both great quantity and quality when you pursue these threads, and as such, they are not for the faint of heart. if your thread is reviewed and it is deemed unworthy of the upgrade, it will be, as opposed to being completely disregarded, seen as the first part of a series of training sessions that will lead up to the ability being learned. over the course of this period, you may even receive some pointers from staff based on mistakes that we saw you make, which should in turn make future endeavors easier. however, simply to clarify, this is not necessary as you can buy new magics and upgrades for you SA's (cost same as new magic) with Exp.
